Twin Peaks Trail Opening and Closure Updates

North Peak Trail Reopened

The northern half of trail on the north (Eureka) peak at Twin Peaks (Twin Peaks Boulevard and Christmas Tree Point Road) re-opened to the public this afternoon!   See before and after photos below. Thank you for your patience as we take the next two weeks to wrap up trail improvements on the southern half of trail on the north peak at Twin Peaks.

Beginning on or after Monday, April 10, the contractor will be moving further south in the park to our Mission Blue Butterfly Trail area shown here and constructing a sustainable trail route through this area. Improvements include replacement of deteriorated steps; new wayfinding signage; erosion control and habitat protection as part of the Twin Peaks Trails Improvement Project / Creeks to Peaks Trail Connection.  We anticipate that this area will be re-opened to public access in mid-May. Notices will be posted on site by mid-week next week.

This work is funded by the 2008 Clean & Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond and two grants from the State Habitat Conservation Fund. Stay tuned for additional updates, including next steps for the Twin Peaks Figure 8 Redesign Project.
