Thank you to all who attended Saturday’s community meeting! We had a good turnout, and we received a lot of helpful feedback, which will continue to inform us as we move forward with the Glen Canyon Park renovation.
For those of you who were unable to join us on Saturday, you can review the presentation online. Just select the “Meeting Minutes” tab on this page, and open the file named “Glen Canyon Community Meeting Presentation — Dec. 10, 2011.” You can let us know your feedback via email. We are accepting comments up until December 23rd.
In particular, we are interested in hearing your responses to the following questions, which were posed to folks who attended the community meeting:
1) Which playground concept do you prefer and why? (Please review pages 16 to 23 of “Glen Canyon Community Meeting Presentation — Dec. 10, 2011” under the “Meeting Minutes” tab of the Glen Canyon Improvement Plan page for details.)
2) Would you like a designated sand play area?
3) Which design elements are most appealing to you? (Please review pages 24 to 32 of “Glen Canyon Community Meeting Presentation — Dec. 10, 2011” under the “Meeting Minutes” tab of the Glen Canyon Improvement Plan page for details.)
Those who attended Saturday’s community meeting generally preferred the first playground concept presented, entitled “Explorer Dome with Climbing Boulder.” Attendees also favored including sand play feature, though there was a discussion of the maintenance and other challenges. If you want to provide additional thoughts and comments on these questions or other feedback on the presentation and plan, be sure to do so no later than December 23rd! Please email me, email@example.com with your feedback.
December 10th was our last meeting planned for this project, and we will be posting the layout online responding to feedback we received in the final meeting as soon as it is ready, likely in late January/February.
Thank you for your continued interest in the project. We are excited to be improving such a beautiful park to better serve you.
Please check this blog every few weeks to hear about our progress!
