Signs of Spring at Alamo Square

Willow 1

New leaves emerging from the willow trees along Scott Street

Construction at Alamo Square is currently on track for a spring opening as the contractor will soon be installing the remaining turf, repaving pathways, and putting finishes in the new restroom. The Recreation and Park Commission recently approved additional funding for drainage upgrades and repairs in the park, which will be made concurrent to the paving repairs.

The willow trees along Scott Street have been inspected and the trees are leafing out at the branch tips, which is a sign that they are healthy.  Prior to the reopening of the park, the Recreation and Park Department’s forestry team will also clear any weak or damaged limbs.

Thank you for being patient as we enter the home stretch of park renovations. We look forward to opening the park soon!
