Green Team Member

  • Duration- Ongoing, varying commitment, starting on January 7, 2014
  • Time Commitment- Three hours per week commitment either Tuesdays or Thursdays from 10-1.
  • Responsibilities- Green Team members are key volunteers in keeping the Garden beautifully maintained. They work with a coordinator and Rec and Park Gardeners in all areas of the Garden. All tools provided.

Adult Garden Guide

  • Duration- Ongoing, one-year commitment, starting on February 8, 2014
  • Time Commitment- Six hours per month
  • Responsibilities- Adult Walk Guides are trained to educate visitors about the wonders of the Botanical Gardens and our mission of conservation. Training is eight consecutive Saturdays from 9:00-12:30 from Feb. 8 through Mar. 29

Children’s Walk Guide

  • Duration- one-year commitment, starting on February 11, 2014
  • Time Commitment- Six hours per month
  • Responsibilities- Volunteers must want to connect children with nature. They receive 12 weeks of training in nature education for school children. Classes are 12 consecutive Tuesdays from 9-12:30 starting Feb. 11 and going through April 29. Walk Guides lead groups of six or fewer school children, grades 1-4 on walks through the garden helping them learn about nature through experience.
