Sigmund Stern Grove, located between Sloat Blvd. and 34th Avenue, is known as the “Jewel of the Sunset”. This unique, 33-acre site offers respite to locals from the everyday city bustle, and is popular during the summer due to free concerts and performances. Upon walking into the grove, which is surrounded by 150 year old eucalyptus trees, visitors are transported to another place and time. Not only does this location have a beautiful stage and amphitheater area, it also has a Victorian house that can be used for receptions or dinners. Protected from the harsh ocean winds, this spot is a popular location for sunbathers and picnickers, and also contains one of San Francisco’s three natural lakes, in addition to a dog park.
