Waterfront recreation offers a wide range of programming and instruction in activities such as sailing, boardsailing, watersports, kayaking, saltwater fishing, and exploring marine life just to name a few!

Learn to sail on Golden Bear, a 46ft racing sail boat with the Blue Water Foundation and San Francisco Recreation & Parks. This class is for beginner and intermediate sailors alike. We will learn sailing skills including: sailing theory, navigation and points of sail, understanding tides and currents, and how to perform the Man Over-board Rescue. San Francisco Bay is a world class sailing destination! As we explore the Bay, we will learn about its geography, sail around its Islands, identify wildlife and have fun sailing. We will meet at the SF Marina Small Craft Harbor on 3950 Scott St., San Francisco. Students will be notified if this class will be cancelled due to rain. Students should bring water, lunch/snack, clothing appropriate for the weather, and sunscreen. Optional: sunglasses/hat.
