Telegraph Hill Safety Improvements Informational Meeting

The Recreation and Park Department and the Department of Public Works invite you to attend an Informational Meeting on the upcoming Safety Improvements to Telegraph Hill to be held on September 10th 2014 from 6 :00 to 7:30 pm at Joe DiMaggio Clubhouse,  651 Lombard Street. Scope of Work

The Telegraph Hill Rock Slope Improvement project consist of the stabilization of rock slopes located southeast and northwest of the centerline of Lombard St.(paper street) which are under City and private ownership.  The rock slope improvements include rock scaling or removal of loose rock and vegetation , partial shotcrete facing, installation of rock bolts and wire mesh netting on the exposed rock face, and replacement and repairs to the existing catchment fence located on Lombard and Winthrop Streets.  Construction is anticipated to start in September/October 2014 with an expected duration of 6-8 months.

Accessing Coit Tower

Coit Tower will be completely accessible during improvements, however, access to parking at Coit Tower may be limited, please use the MUNI Bus Route #39 to help us prevent congestion and to enjoy the view on your way up.
