The purpose of the project is to replace a deteriorated log stair trail from Belgrave Avenue to the top of Tank Hill. The new stair will be box steps, which will be constructed from Douglas Fir timbers and compacted native soil. To view the approved plans click here.
The Tank Hill Trail Improvement Project was selected by the Community Opportunity Fund Selection Committee to receive funding as part of Round 4 of the Community Opportunity Fund (COF) Program of the 2012 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond. Additionally, community members have donated approximately $4,000 to the construction project.
The Recreation and Park Department is in the process of getting approval from the Recreation and Park Department Commission for the remaining funding necessary to complete this project. We hope to have Commission approvals in March 2016, and begin construction by May 2016.
