Once the renovation at Balboa Pool is completed, the $11 million Garfield Pool renovation and $8.2 million Rossi Pool renovation will follow.
The project includes the renovation of the pool, pool building, the addition of an 800 square foot multi-purpose space, and the site improvements to related amenities.
Start Date: November 2016
Anticipated Completion Date: Late Summer/Early Fall 2018
The project has been allocated $7 million from the 2012 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond.
Balboa Park and Pool are located at 511 Havelock Street at San Jose at San Jose and Ocean Avenues. The approximately 1.1.million square foot park has multiple fields for soccer and baseball, tennis and basketball court’s, a children’s play area, skateboard park and a pool.

Once the renovation at Balboa Pool is completed in Fall 2017, the $11 million Garfield Pool renovation and $8.2 million Rossi Pool renovation will follow. The three renovations will not overlap in an effort to serve the public with as much aquatic recreation as possible.
Within the next few weeks contractors will be moving onsite and will be staging at the basketball courts, which will remain closed for the duration of construction due to safety concerns as the building gets seismically retrofitted, and the renovated. Thank you for your patience!
