The target timeline that we posted late last year was to complete construction documents and advertise to contractors sometime this summer. Please see updated anticipated project schedule below. The largest reason for the updated timeline is that our landscape architect was unexpectedly out on leave for several months; however, there are some other factors. We are having another tree assessment done and are planning to complete another round of hazard tree abatement in the fall, ahead of the general contract scope, to make the rest of the scope easier to complete and also to minimize conflict between bird nesting and tree work. We also want to avoid starting work right in the middle of the rainy season to avoid costly delays and to help maximize appeal to quality contractors. Finally, the construction duration is a bit longer than we originally anticipated, but that is to allow for planting at a more appropriate time, at the end of the project.
Advertise project to contractors November 2017
Contract award to Commission February 2018
Notice to Proceed / Construction Start March 2018
Construction substantial completion December 2018
(9 month construction duration)
