New Lawn at Upper Douglass Dog Park

New lawn at Upper Douglass Dog Park

The sod arrived in truck-full rolls last week and was installed in two days. Crew of eight worked diligently to layout the ‘living carpet’, carve its edges and tighten seams resulting in this bright green acre.

The project looks deceivingly complete. The new lawn is ‘floating’ on saturated soil and needs several months to grow new roots and anchor to this new location. Please be mindful and experience the progress within the active construction site from the sidewalk until we open the park in late October. Walking on wet new lawn compresses the soil, crushing new growth, and leaving depressions in the lawn from which it cannot recover; thus, extending the opening date.

We will monitor root growth and keep you posted. Check out the installation photos.
