The contractor has completed construction of the new ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant ramp, which leads from the playground up to the restroom. This ramp provides a very gently sloping path of travel across the lawn to the upper level of the site. New retaining walls, including the curved lawn terraces, have also been constructed. New irrigation, finished grading, and a lawn will be installed in the weeks to come.
We also received confirmation from an arborist’s inspection that a Monterey pine at the Elizabeth Street entrance to the park is suffering from several health problems. It was recommended that this tree be removed. The project team is currently evaluating the situation and is considering options for replacing the tree with a water-conscious and disease resistant species suited for the location.
