Mountain Lake Park Playground Construction Update 12/1/2016

We continue to make good progress on the Mountain Lake Playground Renovation, which is now approximately 75% complete. Completed work includes sloped concrete slabs in play areas, approximately half of the concrete flat work, stairs, installation of the steel “trees” at the overlook, the majority of low landscaped walls, irrigation and drainage infrastructure, rough installation of playground equipment, and foundation work related to the scrambling wall.
Upcoming work includes installation of the summit area concrete work, re-installation of PARCOURSE equipment and donor benches, installation of rubber safety surfacing, landscaping and installation of decking and playground finishes.

Although the project has experienced delays, the City’s Project Management & Construction team is working tenaciously with the contractor to keep working efficiently. The project is currently scheduled to be substantially complete in late February 2017.

We very much appreciate the community’s interest in the project, and thank you for your patience with the delay. Although completion will not fall within the originally scheduled timetable, the Department is thrilled with the outcome of the Playground’s high-quality and unique design features, and looks forward to delivering this amazing play area to the community.
