The Schalge Lock Parks Design Review Advisory Panel (DRAP) held another successful community meeting October 24, 2015. The community members helped narrow down the options for amenities to include the parks, discussed playground equipment and surface materials, and heard from the Art Commission staff about the Arts Enrichment process that will be used to develop original art for the new parks. For more information, please review the posted presentation slides from the meeting, available online; please visit the Materials tab of the main Schlage Lock Future Parks Site.
The Community Members completed a guided survey at the end of the presentation by the Landscape Architecture team, GLS. A blank survey is posted on the Materials tab. If you missed the meeting, you are welcome to complete the survey and mail or email it to RPD staff. The deadline for surveys is November 30th.
Next steps include internal city meetings with the Mayor’s Office on Disability, the RPD maintenance and gardening staff, and the Arts Enrichment staff to further refine the details of the park designs.
The next parks design meeting will be held in early 2016. Please stay tuned to this page for updates.
