Job Description

Do you have a background in positive behavior management techniques?  Would you like to help kids succeed at camp this summer?  SF Recreation and Parks is hiring a behavior coordinator for our citywide day camps, to help staff create an inclusive environment structured to help all children succeed, and provide tips and techniques to staff when challenging behaviors arise.

Job Responsibilities

The behavior coordinator is responsible for:

  • Creating simple tools usable by a wide range of day camps to help create an environment conducive to positive behavior
  • Sharing tools with camp managers and staff and training them on the use of the tools
  • Working with families who identify challenging behaviors prior to their children starting camp
  • Visiting camps to monitor how behavior is being managed and offering tips
  • Working with staff and families when challenging behaviors arise
  • Providing documentation on site visits, interventions, communications
  • Writing an end-of-summer report

Note: candidates should have a valid CA driver's license and access to a vehicle.  Mileage can be reimbursed.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Background in positive behavior management techniques
  • Background in recreation and day camps
  • Fluent in languages other than English, including American Sign Language
  • Background in working with children with ADD, ADHD, Autism, ODD
  • Valid CA driver's license
