Introduction, Tree Removal & Construction Update

Hello! I’d like to introduce myself as the interim project manager for the Balboa Pool renovation while Levi Conover is on leave.

As many neighborhood residents have likely noticed, there was significant damage to the grove of trees at the corner of Havelock Street and San Jose Avenue caused by Tuesday’s storm. As of today, Thursday January 12th, the fallen trees are being cleared along with several other standing trees deemed unstable by a consulting arborist. Debris from the tree removals will be stockpiled on site and removed over the next several weeks. The project team will work over the coming months to develop a plan for tree replacement.

Demolition work continues inside and outside of the pool. The access ramp has been removed from the front of the building while tile and concrete is being removed from the pool and deck. I will continue to make updates about the progress of construction at the pool over the coming months!
