Failing Playgrounds Meeting #7 Summary

At the final meeting of the Failing Playgrounds Task Force on November 18, 2014, members and the public reviewed the draft Failing Playgrounds Final Report, detailing the process of the Task Force, methodologies, and recommendations of playgrounds for renovation. The report highlighted the Task Force’s conclusion that removing CCA-treated wood from all RPD properties should be the top priority followed by household median income, youth density, and Parks Alliance Report Card Grades. This methodology addresses all CCA-treated wood in San Francisco parks and two more playgrounds in low-income, high youth density neighborhoods with low report card scores. After edits were made to the report and comments collected, the Task Force approved the Report to go to the Recreation and Park Commission in December.
