Panama Pacific International Exposition Centennial Celebration Kicks Off February 21

Get Ready San Francisco Bay Area! The centennial celebration of the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition (PPIE) officially kicks off the weekend of February 20, at the Palace of Fine Arts with spectacular events, activities, exhibitions, historic light displays and entertainment for history buffs, innovators and families that will bring to life the spirit and innovation of the 1915 World’s Fair. Outside lightshows on Friday and Saturday will salute the dramatic lights of the 1915 Fair.

On Saturday, February 21, starting at noon, the Recreation and Park Department and its partners, the California Historical Society, Innovation Hangar and Maybeck Foundation host PPIE100 Community Day, a FREE public event.

Come tour the grounds, watch engaging performances and take part in activities and exhibits from local and national educational and cultural institutions including The California Historical Society, The Exploratorium, Maker Media, the Tech Museum and Spark!Lab Smithsonian.
