Potrero Hill Rec Center Gymnasium

Choose from an extensive menu of classes and programs at this welcoming community hub. Outdoors, enjoy the playground, baseball field, basketball court, dog play area, ball fields, two lighted tennis courts, picnic tables and BBQ grills. The lower play area was recently renovated and more improvements are coming soon. The Rec Center also has a gymnasium, stage and auditorium.

This non-instructional playtime is for toddlers 10 months to 3 years. Caregivers will be able to bring the little ones to an indoor playground setting with push toys, hula hoops, tunnels and other gross motor skill activities. Through interactive play children will develop motor skills and social skills.

Class is lightly monitored by staff.

Flag Football League – Coed – Ages 8 – 10 Flag Football - Coed - Ages 8 - 10 3:30 pm 4:30 pm Potrero Hill Recreation Center Grass Area #2 -leftcenter field Youth, Tweens & Teens Sports TBA TBA 09/03 11/05

Flag Football is a co-ed non tackling league which emphasis scheme blocking, running plays, passing plays and route running. Players will have the opportunity to learn different position and the skills needed to be successful at each at position. The Pee-Wee Division will play 7 on 7 with blocking and running. The Senior division will be a 5 on 5 passing only non blocking league. Children will play in a healthy competitive environment where they can use the skills they learn and apply them in High School sports and beyond. Each practice, players will need to bring water, athletic gear and a mouth piece to practices and games. Plastic cleats are recommended, but not required. Uniform shirts will be provided. All players must have their uniform and mouth piece in order to play during game days. All games will be played at Potrero Hill Recreation Center located at 801 Arkansas St. If there are any allergies or concerns about your child please bring them up to the Coach at your first practice or when your register.

Pilates is a body conditioning routine that seeks to build flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination without adding muscle bulk. In addition, Pilates increases circulation and helps to sculpt the body and strengthen the body’s core or ‘powerhouse’ (torso). People who do Pilates regularly feel they have better posture, are less prone to injury, and experience better overall health. Drop-ins welcome at Eureka Valley, Richmond, and Upper Noe Recreation Centers for a charge of $10/class. *All courses taught by certified instructors*

Facility FAQ

About the Facility:. Potrero Hills’ outside space includes a children’s playground, baseball/softball/soccer fields, two tennis courts, and a basketball court. The real treat is the beautiful view and the busy recreation center, complete with an auditorium and stage, computer room and gym.There are plenty of picnic tables for lunch, and enough space for your pooch to run around in the designated dog play area.

Renting the Facility: The auditorium is available for rental through our permits and reservations office. You can contact them by calling 415-831-6800.

Directions: The recreation center is located at 801 Arkansas Street and the cross streets are 22nd and 23rd Streets

Bus Routes:  10-Townsend (outbound/25th & Potrero) -- Arkansas and Madera Streets. The park is across the street from the bus stop.

10-Townsend (inbound/Jackson & Fillmore) -- Wisconsin and Madera Streets; walk east one short block east on Madera to Arkansas St., the park is across the street.
