Find activities and programs for all ages at this full-service Rec Center in the Marina District. The popular facility includes an indoor gym, community rooms, two play areas, a basketball court, two tennis courts, four ball diamonds, a putting green and fully renovated playground.

Local legend has it that Joe DiMaggio took Marilyn Monroe for a stroll in this park just hours before they tied the knot at City Hall. Formerly known as Funston Park, it was renamed for Mayor Moscone, who was assassinated in 1978.

Free Zumba

Moscone hosts free Zumba in our gym on Wednesday nights from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. The class is high energy with fun music and a enthusiastic instructor. Wear athletic shoes and clothing when you come to participate!

This is the third Stepping Stone. Children will grow and explore essential social, cognitive and physical skills in a dynamic and creative setting. Children begin an awareness of the alphabet, colors, and number concepts in a supportive environment. 2-4 hours of classroom volunteering per session is required by the guardian, along with taking a turn providing snack. If your child is not potty-trained, the caretaker must stay throughout the duration of each class. At the Moscone location, parents or caregivers must always stay with their child at all classes.

Available space might change depending on returning players. San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department and SFFD Flame Athletics present SFYBL Spring Mustangs Youth Baseball. Individual players (or groups of players) ages 9 to 10, as of April 30, 2016 that want to sign up for a kid pitch team and have a SFRPD coach, sign up below for the location and time that you want to practice. Teams will be formed based on the sign ups. Fees include one practice per week, a uniform, a coach and entry into the SFYBL Baseball league. This class is the next step in our series of lessons that will take you deeper into the wonderful world of golf. We will be reviewing the basics and will add video analysis along with photos and a breakdown of your swing to help build a dependable repeatable golf swing. Facility FAQ

About the Facility: The building has three classrooms that are used for ceramics, yoga, early childhood development, senior, dance and more. We also have a gym, stage and kitchen. Our outdoor amenities consist of  four tennis courts, two outdoor basketball courts, three softball fields, one baseball diamond, a putting green and children’s play ground.

Renting the Facility: The community room, gym and outside areas are available for rental through our permits and reservations office. You can contact them by calling 415-831-6800.

Directions: The recreation center is located at 1800 Chestnut Street at corner of Buchannan Street.
