A variety of courses designed for the more mature adult. It’s great exercise and a lot of fun. Improves posture, balance and flexibility through basic dance movement and routines.

Join the low impact version of Argentine Tango. This dance consists of a variety of styles that developed in different regions and eras. It was made popular in the U.S. by Vernon and Irene Castle, and by 1915 it was being danced throughout Europe.

Classes for mature adults, designed to promote general health and fitness through various types of physical exercise.

The ancient form of belly dance has been practiced for thousand of years and remains exceptionally popular throughout the world. Belly dancing tones muscles, is energized, and can be learned by people of all fitness levels. During the class, we will cover moves such as the Egyptian shoulder shimmies and undulations. Over the course of the session you will learn the fundamentals of the dance which we will put into a fun combination. There’s no better way to burn calories and stay in shape by dancing! Please wear comfortable dance oriented clothes and shoes for the class.

This non-instructional playtime is for toddlers 10 months to 3 years. Caregivers will be able to bring the little ones to an indoor playground setting with push toys, hula hoops, tunnels and other gross motor skill activities. Through interactive play children will develop motor skills and social skills.

Class is lightly monitored by staff.

San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department and SFFD Flame Athletics present SFYBL Spring Youth Baseball. Individual players (or groups of players) ages 4-6, as of April 30, 2016, that want to sign up for a Teeball team and have a SFRPD coach, sign up below for the location and time that you want to practice. Teams will be formed based on the sign ups. If a class is full at a particular location, you can wait list and we will try to form other teams with practices at or nearby that location. Fees include one practice per week, a uniform, a coach and entry into the SFYBL Baseball league. Games start March and practices start on the first week of March . Games will be on Saturdays. If a team with a coach wants to register, please go to the SFYBL website (http://sfybl.org/).

Facility FAQ

About the Facility: The building has an auditorium that is used for early childhood development, seniors, day camps, dance and more. We also have a gym and kitchen. Our outdoor amenities consist of tennis courts, outdoor basketball court, a green field space and children’s play ground.

Renting the Facility: The auditorium, gym and kitchen are available for rental through our permits and reservations office. You can contact them by calling 415-831-6800.

Directions: The recreation center is located on Geary Blvd and Steiner St.
