Translation and interpretation services for public meetings, meeting notices and other documents are available for this department.
To request translation and interpretation services at public meetings for capital projects, please call (415) 581-2579, Monday through Friday, between 9:00am and 5:00pm, at least 72 hours (3 days) before a meeting.
Call (415) 831-6800 to request interpretation services for program registration assistance.

Language Access Ordinance Complaint Procedures
The Office of Civic Engagement and Immigrant Affairs (OCEIA) is the monitoring agency for the City’s Language Access Ordinance (LAO). All city departments must provide language access in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), Spanish and Tagalog.
How to Complain:
You may file a complaint against any city agency with OCEIA by phone, in writing or electronic mail.

If you submit your complaint electronically you will receive an electronic acknowledgement of your complaint within 48 hours of OCEIA’s receipt.
If you submit your complaint via telephone or postal mail a written acknowledgement of receipt of your complaint will be mailed within 10 days after receipt.
OCEIA will send your complaint to the appropriate agency for disposition and resolution. Currently, each city department has its own process of solving complaints. OCEIA will send you a status notice 30 days after acknowledging receipt of your complaint.
