Garfield Pool is currently closed for renovations.

Exciting things are in store for this neighborhood pool!

The renovation project includes a full overhaul of the existing pool building, and the demolition and replacement of the adjacent clubhouse building. The newly reconfigured recreation center will include a shared entry lobby to access the pool facility and clubhouse, a new multi-purpose courtyard, improved park accessibility and new landscaping.

The $19.7 million project is funded by the 2012 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks GO Bond ($11 million) and IPIC Eastern Neighborhood Impact Fees ($8.7 million).

The anticipated reopening of Garfield Pool is in 2020.

During construction, the middle section of Garfield Square will be closed to the public. Temporary toilets will be provided near the park entrance at the corner of 25th and Harrison streets. Soccer fields, children’s play area, and the 26th Street lawn will remain open during construction.
